If you know me, you know I am a big burger fanatic. I like my burgers. Over the years ive had some real good burgers, and some not so great burgers. I’ve tried burgers in nearly 40 different states, and I think I am nowhere near having found the best burger yet. But so far, I think I have enough information to make an informed Top 5 for Myrtle Beach.
#5
Okay, So admittedly I didn’t have 5.. But I felt like for number 5 we need to establish a baseline. Because when is ay top 5 is this the top 5 above McDonalds? no.. Absolutely not.
Let’s imagine absolute last place in this list is Whataburger, or In-n-Out. If you are a Burger fanatic you likely have tried one of those burgers in the past. So we will say those are absolute last place on this list (even tho neither of those restaurants exist in Myrtle Beach, SC.
#4 Runner Up
Logans Roadhosue
Logans is “Chain restaurant” and not exclusive to Myrtle Beach, but the burger really wasn’t bad.
I went with the “All American cheese burger” which includes Swiss, American cheese with lettuce, tomato, onions & pickles. Now, I tend to leave off the pickle myself. But on a scale of 1-5 this is a solid 4. It wasn’t anything to write home about, but better than you would expect.
#4
Longhorn Steakhouse
The “LH Burger” or Longhorn Burger is one of few actual steak burgers you’ll find.
Now, again Longhorn is a chain restaurant too. But one of the better burgers you’ll find when competing for 4th place.
#3
TopGolf
Yeah, You heard that right. A tourist attraction such as TopGolf, Again not exclusive to the area. But a burger not soon forgotten none the less.
I went with the Patty Melt, which was a pretty basic burger but melted two types of cheese on it. Okay it’s not basic, but thats the easiest way to explain it. It also includes caramelized onions (My favorite), “Secret Sauce”, and Slaw. It’s sure to get your taste buds going.
#2
Hickory Tavern
Hickory Tavern isn’t exclusive to Myrtle Beach, However it’s one of the best here.
I went with the “Freedom Burger” which $1 of each sale is donated to Veterans to help them get their freedom. The Freedom Burger is served as a double Cheese burger, with onions, Lettuce, and Mayo. It’s huge, it’s greasy, and it’s exactly what I wanted. It’s also served with Fries.
#1 THE WINNER
River City Cafe in North Myrtle Beach is probably the best burger you will find here. I actually loved it so much I went a second time during my stay.
I went with the Carolina Cheeseburger, Which comes with Slaw, Chili, Mustard, and Diced Onions. It’s served with Fries as well.
It’s a bit pricey, but it’s well worth the cost.
Keep in mind, this is a hopping place. So if loud noises bother you, you may want to get yours to-go. This place is very seldomly quiet, unless you go right as they first open for the day.
Its a “Tourist attraction” located at the Barefoot Landing, so there will be some things to deal with, such as LOTS of foot traffic in the area as you try to park, and then once you sit down they will try to take your picture for a post card. We were told the postcard was free, but we declined.
Thats my top 5 for burgers in Myrtle Beach. Arguably North Myrtle Beach, but they are close enough to each other that the location really doesn’t matter.
