As you may know I currently drive a Cybertruck. I bought it sort of as a last second decision. At the time I owned a F350 Dually and a F150 Lightning. I definitely wasn’t happy with the lightning, but it was something to drive. I was much more in love with the Dually. I had considered the Cybertruck a few times, and ended up walking away from it every time for one reason or another. Something Drove me to buy it one day, so I just without even thinking about it took my Dually and sold it. I could’ve taken the ~$80,000 I got from that truck and kept my lightning and got the cybertruck, but a part of me wanted to OWN it, rather than having another car payment. So I ended up selling my Lightning also to Carvana…

For half a second I almost considered the GMC Sierra EV, I talked with my local Chevrolet dealership and had made plans to go drive the truck and test it out. The problem I’ve ALWAYS had with the local Chevrolet dealer is they like to play games. They will promise one thing to get you to come in and talk to them, and then swear they never promised that.
This situation was no different, I went in to test drive a truck they claimed to have had, but never had. Then they offered to sell me one that they hadn’t yet got, but absolutely refused to come off the price any..
Fast forward 8 months and now those trucks are all about $15,000 below MSRP, guess they aren’t selling as good…
Things that id be concerned about with the Sierra EV. The Hummer EV came out a little over a year ago, and it’s NOT been known for its reliability. Not really a huge fan of buying a $100,000 paperweight. Plus just like Ford, you cant just take it to any Chevrolet dealer for service, you have to use a dealer who has an EV trained mechanic.. (I had a similar issue with my local Ford Dealer).
I do like the fact that it has a 200kWh battery pack, but for it to have about the same range as the cybertruck means it would cost almost double to operate..

I definitely didn’t love the lightning. But there were a few things about it that I did like.
One of my favorite features on the lightning was the Matrix Glare Free Headlights. Most Teslas now have this feature as well 1 (not cybertruck tho) and I can say that ford did it better. I was a huge fan of how the lights would adjust so quickly for oncoming cars.
Lightning also had up to 30 Amp of on-board Power. We used this during the hurricane to power our house for 3 days while our power was out. It worked great, but it wasn’t flawless (It wasn’t 40 amp like the CyberTruck).
Ultimately fords outdated and unintuitive software was the dealbreaker for me. Tesla just does software better.

The Cybertruck has overall checked all the boxes for me. It has the most On-Board power of any other truck, it has the cool features like Rear Wheel Steering, and 2.6 seconds 0-60 acceleration. I even have 3 years free supercharging on my truck, which is currently saving me an estimated $60/month on charging.
But it’s becoming increasingly harder to drive any of my teslas. I feel like I cant go just anywhere I want anymore in fear of being terrorized by domestic terrorists. Ultimately If I sell the truck now, the terrorists win though. Im hopeful this dies off and they find the next thing to hate immensely.
I will definitely never forget the big Diesel Dually I had. I’d Installed a train horn on it, and done a lot of little customizations to it. But ultimately every time I buy a dually it’s for a specific use case, and not really a good daily driver. It has 2kW on-board power so definitely not something that would run my whole house, Plus id have to idle the engine to use that. It doesn’t have the best turning radius, and it’s hard to fit into small places. As a daily driver it’s not checking many boxes. For its specific intended use case, sure. but otherwise no. Plus do we even need to talk about how diesel is 4x more expensive to operate than my current cybertruck.

Ultimately, Im overall really happy with the CyberTruck. I don’t WANT to sell it. But theres always that little voice in the back of my head that I could get rid of it, get a “normal” truck and not have to worry about where I go, or what someone might do to it while parked.. Ultimately that mindset is what they WANT though. Caving now allows the terrorists to win..
Overall I really do enjoy it, and it’s the only truck on the market today that can drive its self. Which plays a huge part in what kind of vehicles I want to own.
I currently own The Cybertruck, and two Tesla Model Y’s..
